ShoutCast Board
Current version: 4.4

Looking for a completely customizable ShoutCast Board that allows manager and DJ's access to log in when they need to? One that also allows a manager to add new DJ's too? The ShoutCast Board from Lastat Productions gives you ALL that and more! Don't pay outrageous prices for other boards with the same features!!

Add your own textures to the ShoutCast Board to display your club's logo and banner, as well as the current DJ's profile picture. Don't want to show their profile picture when they log in? Add a different texture to display for any DJ. The display text color can be set to ANY color that you want and set the entire board's texture to 9 different colors.

The ShoutCast Board from Lastat Productions also has a built in radio system too! It comes preloaded with various genres of music stations and will also revert back to the last radio station when a DJ logs out. The boards sisplays the Current and Previous Song, DJ's name or radio station name, bitrate and current listeners. It automatically announces the new song too. Owners and Managers can change the volume (whisper, say, shout and off) at any time. If SL is extra laggy on any particular day, change the "Delay Time" of when the ShoutCast Board updates the display and announces new songs.

The ShoutCast Board is compatible with the Lastat Productions Advanced Tip Jar! (Sold Separately) Set up the tip jar to be used with the ShoutCast Board and when a DJ logs in, they will automatically be logged into the Advanced Tip Jar!! Patrons can pay the ShoutCast Board OR the Advanced Tip Jar to tip the DJ!! No extra set-up in the ShoutCast Board, just purchase an Advanced Tip Jar and checkout it's manual for detailed instructions.

Setup
Adding Managers (optional)
  1. With the ShoutCast Board rezzed, right click on it and choose edit to bring up the build window
  2. Navigate to the Content tab and open up the * Managers * notecard
  3. Add the name of each manager on a new line
Notecard: * Managers *
  • randarose223
  • Lastat Daxter
  • lastat.fang
Adding * Stations *
  1. While editing the ShoutCast Board, open up the * Stations * notecard
  2. Add each radio station, each on a new line
Notecard: * Stations *
  • 181.fm Rock=http://108.61.73.118:8008
  • POWERHITz=108.61.30.179:5020
* Notes *
  • The radio station name (button) goes first, followed by an "=" sign, then the stream url itself
  • "http://" is ignored. The system strips it off for memory and uniformity, then adds it when setting the lands url
Adding Deejays
  1. While editing the ShoutCast Board, drag a copy of the ".DJ Config" notecard to your inventory. If you already have, please continue
  2. To add a new Deejay, drag a copy of the ".DJ Config" notecard to the board's contents
  3. Rename the notecard to match the deejay's SL name, and prefix it with a "."
  4. Edit the notecard to resemble the following:
Notecard: .Lastat Daxter
  • DJ Name=DJ Lastat Daxter
  • DJ Stream=sc.lastatproductions.com:8000
* Notes *
  • The "DJ Name" will display on the board under the title: "Featuring"
  • The "DJ Stream" requires a streming server's ip/domain and port
  • The notecard must be prefixed with a ".", this is how the board knows it is a DJ config notecard
  • The notecard name MUST match their SL login name. It cannot contain a period, other than the first character
  • Managers can add DJ Config notecards too! Just give them one, along with the link to this manual, and tell them to see the "Usage" section below
Custom Deejay Pics (optional)
  1. While editing the ShoutCast Board, you can drag a custom dj pic to the board's contents
  2. Rename the image to match the deejay's SL name, and prefix it with a "_"
* Notes *
  • This is completely optional, the board uses the deejay's profile pic by default
  • The pic must be prefixed with a "_", this is how the board knows it is a custom DJ image
  • The image name MUST match their SL login name.
Changing Images
  1. While editing the ShoutCast Board, navigate to the content tab
  2. Replace the current texture named "BANNER" with your own and name it "BANNER". This image will display along the top of the board and will be used instead of the "Name" setting (see below)
  3. Replace the "LOGO" texture with your own and name it "LOGO" as well. This image will display along the left side of the board
  4. Replace the "PIC" texture with your own and name it "PIC" as well. This image will display along the right side of the board
Land Audio Relay
  1. If this is the first time using your ShoutCast Board on this land, click the board and choose "Rez Relay" from the menu
  2. If your land is deeded to a group, the "Land Audio Relay" will need to be too. To do so, right click the newly rezed "Land Auido Relay" and choose edit to bring up the build window
  3. Under the General tab set the group to match that of the land, tick the "share" checkbox and click "Deed" to deed the prim to the group
* Notes *
  • ShoutCast boards have nothing to do with playing music. That is a responsibility of the viewer itself.
  • Boards of this nature primarily function to organize deejays, radio stations, manage the land's audio url, and can display the current stream's info (song, bitrate, listeners, etc).
  • You can NOT rez a copy of the Land Audio Relay from your inventory, it can only be rezzed from the board itself by using the board's menu

Managers adding deejays
  1. Create a notecard in your inventory, rename it to match the deejay's real name exactly. Mine would look like ".Lastat Daxter"
  2. The notecard must cantain two settings, "DJ Name" and "DJ Stream". See example below
  3. Click the ShoutCast Board and choose "DJ Menu", then "Add"
  4. Press and hold the control key on your keyboard while dragging the notecard from your inventory, and dropping it on the board itself
Notecard: .Lastat Daxter
  • DJ Name=DJ Lastat Daxter
  • DJ Stream=sc.lastatproductions.com:8000
* Notes *
  • After 30 seconds the ShoutCast board will reset and confirm that the DJ Cards have been loaded
  • Do NOT attempt to add/remove any deejays during an active set, this does reset the board which reverts the lands audio url back to default
  • Give your managers each a default copy of a DJ Card FIRST! If they have your edit rights, they can take a copy of one from inside the ShoutCast Board
